We will drive early in the morning from El Chaltén to Lago Del Desierto, located at 38 km (24 miles) distance. From the parking lot we´ll approach to the base of the Huemul glacier ( about 1 h) and we´ll continue the ascent using the skis towards the summit (2146 meters or 7040 feet).
It will take us about 6 to 7 hours to get to the summit. The views are worth it from the top!
After a break, and depending on the snow conditions, we’ll have a few options for the ski descent. It will take us another two hours to get back to the car. We will drive back to El Chaltén in the afternoon
Note: The Itinerary can be modified and should be considered only as a guide. External factors such us the conditions of the snow or weather conditions could change the original plan, and your Guides will have the criteria to change the program if they consider is necessary.
