Description

For fans and lovers of skiing adventures, Bariloche offers the possibility for off-piste skiing in the surroundings of the Catedral Ski Resort. Bariloche is a very picturesque city, located in front of Lake Nahuel Huapi Lake and surrounded by mountains around 6000ft.
Your guide UIAGM-IFMGA will offer different options according to weather conditions, snow conditions and your personal skills.

Itinerary

1 DAY 

Meeting at the base of Cerro Catedral. We will use the ski lifts to warm up on our first descents, and after be able to access the “ Lagunita” area near “Punta Princesa” with the skins. Depending on the timing & conditions, we could ski the"Segundo Lomo" or "La Palmera" in the afternoon.

Note:  The Itinerary can be modified and should be considered only as a guide. External factors such us the conditions of the snow or weather conditions could change the original plan, and your Guides will have the criteria to change the program if they consider is necessary.

PERSONAL EQUIPMENT


• 30 liters Backpack
• Water bottle 1 liter and small thermo flask 500cc
• Merino or synthetic base layers
• Mid layer and wind stopper
• Down or synthetic hooded jacket
• 2 pairs of gloves ( thin and thick)
• Warm hut, sun hat and buff
• Waterproof pants and Jacket ( Gore-Tex)
• Lens and goggles
• Sun bloc & lip protection
• Ski touring set: Skis, skins, boots, ski crampons, telescopic poles.*
• Safety avalanche set: Shovel, beacon, probe*
• Helmet ( optional)
If you need to rent some of these items, please let us know in advance 

Please make sure you have all requested equipment, let us konw if you need advice for buying or renting

NOTE

Water is potable in Southern Patagonia. Please bring your own water filter or purification tablets if you don’t want to drink the water untreated.
Sleeping bags/pads are available for rent in El Chaltén. Book early for best availability
